Thing # 11: LibraryThing

I'm crazy about LibraryThing. I cataloged about 20 adult and six children's books (see above). I explored groups and joined one: you get free books in exchange for writing reviews. This is a competitive activity; many apply for the same titles and only a few are selected. I also viewed lists from others with similar tastes and wrote down many "want to read" titles. I plan to keep adding to my catalog.

I thought of several uses for LibraryThing. If I add it to our school web page, I can feature a "what's new" list and invite teachers to view it. I also can organize children's lists by genre and link them to our web site.
